How to build AI voice and messaging agents that actually work

With Ronald van der Looy, Versaia

Organizations face overwhelming volumes of repetitive conversations from customers, employees, tenants and patients. This increases support workload, slows response times and makes scaling costly. Traditional chatbots typically fail — not because the AI isn’t smart enough, but because they lack context understanding, workflow automation and deep integration with operational systems like SAP.

In this session I share how we build AI voice and messaging agents that materially reduce support and service workload.
I’ll show why building effective agents is like an iceberg: the visible part — the LLM, speech-to-text and text-to-speech — is only 10%. The real work lies beneath the surface: orchestration, system integration, context management, knowledge retrieval, testing and evaluation, security, compliance and continuous optimization.

Drawing from real-world implementations across various sectors, I’ll walk you through the full agent lifecycle — from design to production — and explain what it truly takes to deploy AI agents that deliver measurable results.

Hugging Face in SAP AI Foundation

With Marla Alschweiki, SAP Fioneer

This session shows how Hugging Face models can be used inside SAP AI Foundation to build real, production-ready AI use cases. You will learn how to bring your own models into the SAP ecosystem, deploy them with SAP AI Core, manage them via AI Launchpad, and connect them to SAP applications.

The focus is on practical patterns, not theory. Topics include model selection, containerization, training and serving workflows, and governance aspects like versioning and monitoring. The session also shares lessons learned from real projects, including common pitfalls, performance considerations, and cost awareness. You will see how open-source transformer models can be combined with SAP services to accelerate innovation while staying enterprise-ready. This talk is aimed at developers, data scientists, and architects who want to use modern NLP and foundation models in SAP landscapes. Basic knowledge of SAP BTP and machine learning helps, but the session stays accessible and hands-on.

By the end, you will understand how to bridge Hugging Face and SAP AI Foundation in a clean, scalable way and how to start your own BYOM journey in SAP.

From Data to Decisions: Embedding RPT-1 Predictive Intelligence into SAP BTP Applications.

With Syed Ejazuddin & Shree Krishna, Booking.com

What if adding predictive intelligence to enterprise applications were as simple as calling an API? With SAP RPT-1, it is. By applying in-context learning to structured business data, SAP RPT-1 removes the complexity of traditional machine-learning training and preprocessing.

In this session, discover how SAP RPT-1 seamlessly integrates with SAP BTP services such as AI Core, CAP, and Build Process Automation to deliver real-time predictions for high-impact business scenarios—including sales forecasting, churn detection, and payment delay prediction.

Through a dynamic presentation and live demo, you’ll see how predictive AI can be embedded into SAP applications quickly and effectively, using proven architecture and design patterns you can take back and apply right away.

There Are No Bugs, Only Poorly Specified Prompts

With Robin van het Hof, ASML

Think your AI assistant is buggy? Think again…

In this session, I’ll explore why most “AI failures” are actually prompt failures, and how to fix them. I will show practical techniques for getting consistent, high-quality results from AI when tackling real (SAP) development challenges: applying TDD and SDD principles with AI assistance, refactoring legacy code without breaking everything, detecting malicious patterns before they hit production, etc. Through live demos, I’ll share how to write prompts and instructions that work like well-crafted requirements: specific, testable, and unambiguous.

Walk away with a systematic approach to AI-assisted development that turns frustrating trial-and-error into predictable, production-ready results. No more “the AI didn’t understand me.” Just better specifications, better code, and better outcomes.

From Prompt to Production: Agentic SAPUI5 Development with the UI5 MCP Server

With Florian Vogt, SAP

Generative AI is changing how we build enterprise UIs. In this session, we introduce the UI5 MCP server—an open-source Model Context Protocol server that turns your AI coding assistant into a UI5 expert, with access to best‑practice scaffolds, the UI5 CLI/Tooling, and the UI5 linter.

You’ll see how to create a brand-new SAPUI5 app from a natural-language prompt or even a screenshot, enhance existing apps safely, and validate code against modern UI5/Fiori best practices. We’ll also cover practical migration paths for older projects to align with today’s conventions—minimizing technical debt while preparing for upcoming UI5 versions. Demos run in familiar IDEs (e.g., VS Code) using an MCP-capable assistant; no black magic required.

You’ll leave with repeatable workflows, prompts, and tooling setups you can apply the next day on real projects.

Automatically translate texts of development objects with AI and n8n

With Damien Arriens & Mario Kernich, SWAN GmbH

Part 1
At last year’s ABAPConf, we presented N8N as an alternative tool for AI use cases within the SAP ecosystem. We used it to access the SAP system directly and read all the development objects (classes, tables, structures, etc.) to automatically create an technical documentation.

In this session, we will show another use case in which we translate the texts of the development objects into any target language. This can save a lot of time because translating using SAP GUI or Eclipse often requires countless clicks.

Part 2
Showcase of a powerful community tool for testing ODATA services, including modern ABAP RAP/CDS and classic SEGW projects, as well as APC (ABAP Push Channels). Thanks to its intuitive UI, building test cases is easy, as is running and saving them for quick access later. No more manual hassle – just click, test and repeat! Technical Debt Management with GenAI at Booking.com

With Peter Kaldi, Mayank Jain & Alena Makarevich, Booking.com

Technical Debt Management with GenAI is a practical session on applying Booking’s approach to reduce legacy complexity and increase business agility in an SAP ABAP landscape. By improving code quality, performance, and security, this approach helps lower KTLO effort, reduce upgrade and maintenance costs, and accelerate the transition to a cloud-ready system.

The session demonstrates how we combine established SAP practices with GenAI to enable faster, more informed decision-making and planning. We use standard quality and compliance techniques such as ATC checks, usage analysis, and performance monitoring to identify issues and hotspots. Custom code is extracted and structured by development package using abapGit, and GenAI then produces concise summaries that capture purpose, dependencies, key functionality – helping functional and development teams assess impact and prioritize remediation. In addition, a management-focused overview consolidates results by criticality and resolution priority to support efficient backlog planning and progress tracking.

Attendees will leave with actionable insights and lessons learned on using SAP tools and GenAI together to make modernization efforts more transparent, measurable, and effective.

Keynote SAP

10 Things You Should Know About AI in ABAP Cloud

In this closing keynote, we will cut through the AI hype and focus on the 10 things you should know about AI-driven development in ABAP Cloud. We begin with the developer’s daily toolkit, demonstrating how SAP Joule for Developers, ABAP AI capabilities (J4D) and the choice between Eclipse and VS Code are redefining productivity. We then explore the world of Custom Code Migration, showing how AI can automate the path to a “Clean Core” by refactoring legacy logic into modern, cloud-compliant patterns.

Finally, we dive into the architecture of the future: building intelligent business applications. You will learn how to leverage the ABAP AI SDK, implement AI patterns for stateless operations, and, most importantly, how to design “Human-in-the-loop” systems that ensure enterprise-grade reliability.
