👋 Welcome!

The conference takes place at Booking.com’s Amsterdam office, located at the tip of Oosterdokseiland – a modern waterfront area just east of Amsterdam Centraal Station. That means you’re a short walk from the historic city center, canal cruises, and plenty of relaxed dinner options!

🏙️ A quick feel for Amsterdam

Amsterdam is compact and easy to explore on foot, with quiet canals, historic streets, and distinctive gabled houses throughout the center. Between sessions, it’s simple to step outside for a short walk, a coffee, or a relaxed conversation in one of the city’s many cafĂŠs. The overall pace is calm and welcoming – ideal for winding down after a full conference day.

🌦️ Early March weather tips

Early March in Amsterdam is usually cool, changeable, and often breezy, with short rain showers possible at any time. Temperatures commonly sit around 1°C to 10°C, and wind near the water can make it feel cooler.

☝️Planning tips

  • Keep outdoor plans short and flexible, and have an easy indoor fallback nearby (cafĂŠ, museum, or hotel lobby).

  • If it’s windy or raining, choose activities close to Amsterdam Centraal / Hotel to minimize travel time

🍽️ Networking dinners near Booking.com

If you’re planning a networking dinner during the conference, choose venues that are comfortable, conversation-friendly, and easy to reach from Oosterdokseiland and Amsterdam Centraal. Here are a few places we can recommend!

Please note – for groups of 10–20, booking in advance is strongly recommended.

Hannekes Boom

A relaxed waterfront spot near Oosterdok, Hannekes Boom is one of the best picks for a networking dinner if you want a casual, social atmosphere with good beer options.

💡 Tip: if you’re going with a group, reserve ahead and start with a round of shared bar snacks plus beers – low-pressure, easy to mingle, and it sets a great tone before everyone orders mains.

Loetje Amsterdam Centraal

A widely loved Dutch classic, best known for its steak served with rich gravy – simple, consistent, and a crowd-pleaser for mixed groups. The atmosphere is lively but still suitable for conversation, and the Central location makes logistics easy.

💡 Tip: keep ordering simple by choosing a limited selection of popular mains for the table (or request a set menu).

Restaurant-CafĂŠ In de Waag

A memorable historic venue (Nieuwmarkt) that explicitly caters to group lunches/dinners and can offer separate rooms – great when you want a classic Amsterdam atmosphere.

💡 Tip: ask about their group menus – having everyone choose from a smaller set of options keeps the evening flowing.

Brouwerij de Prael (Amsterdam)

A solid “Dutch beer + dinner” choice with a lively but still social atmosphere. Their contact info notes bookings up to 20 via their reservation system (with larger groups handled by email)

💡Tip: order a tasting board/flight to get the table talking right away.

🗺️ Amsterdam attractions & sightseeing

Amsterdam is a city full of museums, canals, historic landmarks, and unique highlights. The capital of the Netherlands has much more to offer than just iconic Amsterdam attractions such as the Rijksmuseum, the Anne Frank House, and Dam Square. During your visit to the capital, you will discover a mix of culture, history, and modern urban charm.

1. Must see: Rijksmuseum

The Rijksmuseum is the national museum of the Netherlands and the most visited attraction in Amsterdam. The impressive building on Museumplein houses a world-famous collection of art and history, with the highlight being The Night Watch by Rembrandt. You will also see works by Vermeer (such as The Milkmaid), Frans Hals, and many other masters of the Dutch Golden Age

2. Things to do: Canal cruise

A canal cruise through the Amsterdam canals is one of the best ways to discover the city and should definitely not be missed during a visit to Amsterdam. From the water, you see the historic canal houses, bridges, landmarks, and houseboats from a completely different perspective. During your cruise past beautiful Amsterdam attractions, you will hear stories about the city’s history and daily life along the canals. You can choose from various types of canal cruises, ranging from classic tours to evening cruises and luxury boats with drinks

3. Highlights: Van Gogh Museum

The Van Gogh Museum houses the largest collection of works by Vincent van Gogh in the world. Here, you can follow the life and development of the artist through paintings, drawings, and personal letters. Famous works such as Sunflowers and The Potato Eaters attract millions of visitors every year (it is necessary to book your tickets at least several weeks in advance). The Van Gogh Museum provides extensive context about Van Gogh’s struggles and his sources of inspiration. Thanks to the clear chronological layout, you get a comprehensive picture of his life and artistic development.
